Cassidy is STATE BOUND for Gymnastics

Wahoo!!! She did it -- Cassidy is STATE BOUND for Gymnastics. We are so very, very proud of her!!!

She even got 3 medals today --

1) Beam - 8.3 (7th place)
2) Bars - 8.45 (9th place)
3) OVERALL - 10th place with a score of 33.475 (25 girls for the 6-7 yr olds)

The rest of her scores are as follows:

Vault - 8.150
Floor - 8.575

She worked on her bar routine and finally got the one move that keeps giving her fits. She missed it in the warm-ups twice and I didn't want to watch, but glad I did. The State meet is in two weeks here in San Diego. Not sure if she'll be competing on Saturday or Sunday yet.

We'll keep you posted and hope some of our local friends can make it for a big cheering section!!

Thanks Uncle Trevor, Aunt Kathleen & Cousin Corinne for coming out to watch!!!

Enjoy the smiling face!!!

Halloween 2012

We had a fun Halloween this year in sunny California.  The three younger kids were excited to go trick-or-treating.  Colton elected to hang out with friends and watch a movie.

Carson wanted a scary costume this year and this Momma would only go with Unknown Phantom.  I didn't want too scary!!  He had a blast scaring people and even said "this is more fun than collecting candy".  He would stand like a statute on a lawn and people would walk by and he would turn on his red eyes.  He could make them come on and off whenever.  He'd lay down on the lawn and be black as night and then someone would walk by and he'd light up.  He got lots of great comments and some people would touch him wondering if he was real.  He said one little kid punched him because he was scary.  I think it was definitely his favorite costume from past years.

Cheyanne had trouble deciding, but finally thought the Pirate costume would work (with a little help from Mom's prodding.  The other outfits she wanted were geared more for the high school and older group if you know what I mean!)  We're definitely going to have issues with picking out appropriate clothes as she gets older!  Anyway, she looked great in the costume and she is so independent -- I didn't do a think to help her get ready.  She fixed herself up completely.

Cassidy wanted to be a Witch this year.  We found an inexpensive green/black witch at Walmart that she loved.  Buying the broom was a definite plus to finish the costume.

We did the downtown businesses from 3:30-5 and it's always fun to see friends walking along.  Then, came home for supper and headed out again for another 1.5 hours.  The parents were tired of walking and I definitely had worn out kids as well.  They all dumped their candy and proceeded to trade for 1/2 hour after getting home.  We'll see how long I can last before I dump it all out!  Money as a bribe may work as well especially for Cheyanne who is THIS close to saving enough money for an ipod Touch!

I think the photos turned out great!

Smokey -- Getting ready to attack something!

Just thought I'd post some random pictures of the family in May.  Colton & I heaed to Rhode Island on my b-day weekend and enjoyed seeing our best friends, Dawn & Derek, and their family.  I need to upload the spa pictures and post.  We had a wonderful time relaxing while Dawn's husband, Rob, took care of kids.  I came home to a fun surprising b-day present.  See the picture with balloons!  We had a visit from our friends, the Ford's, who just moved back from Japan and took the time to come and see us for a few days.  They are moving to CO, so we're hoping to catch up with them again in July when we're out there.
